My Fellow Marylanders,

First I want to thank all of you who committed time, effort, money and support to my campaign.

Although we did not "win" the primary election, I believe my campaign brought honesty, integrity, enthusiasm and choice to the race. The people I met during this process were incredible. The stories I heard from citizens across the state were remarkably different, yet remarkably the same. It reinforced for me the fact that we are all human in the end, and every voice does indeed deserve a voice in Washington.

Although the election is over - the issues discussed during the election continue to exist and I will do what I can outside of the political arena to ensure our leaders hear the message I have received from the citizens of Maryland.

I will continue to have the discussions necessary to move issues forward, such as health care and energy independence. I encourage all of you who were involved in my campaign in any way - to stay involved. Write your congressman, senators and president - let them know how their decisions affect you and tell them what you need.

Remember, the future is not determined by a roll of the dice, it is determined by the conscious decisions of you and me.
